The Ambala district police in Haryana took steps on Thursday to take action against farmer leaders who are actively participating in the ongoing protests at the state border, using the National Security Act (NSA) of 1980. In an official release, the district police stated that since February 13, continuous efforts were made by the protesting farmers and associated unions to break the barricades put at Shambhu border amid calls for ‘Dilli Chalo protests’. “Daily attempts are being made to spoil the law and order by pelting stones at the police administration and by creating ruckus. During this period, a lot of damage has been caused to government and private property by the hooligans. The damage caused to government and private property by the agitators is being assesses,” said Ambala police.
