LUCKNOW: The court hearing in the Shringar Gauri Sthal worship case will continue on Wednesday as the arguments in the case remained inconclusive. After hearing their arguments, civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar directed both sides – the plaintiffs’ lawyer Sudhir Tripathi and Anjuman Intejamiya Masajid (AIM) lawyer Abhay Nath Yadav — to return on Wednesday.
The AIM had filed a petition on May 7, urging the court to replace advocate commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra. It accused him of bias and working under the pressure of the plaintiffs. Mishra had been entrusted by the court to carry out the survey and videography of Shringar Gauri Sthal present on the premises of the mosque in the presence of both the parties.
Meanwhile, the plaintiffs’ lawyer also filed a petition on Monday, praying for court’s direction for the videography of the basement of the mosque premises as well. It also requested the court to direct the local administration and police to ensure the videography.
Earlier, the court had asked Mishra to start the work of survey and videography on Gyanvapi on May 6 and 7. The process of survey and videography commenced on May 6 in the presence of the representatives of both the parties, but work was stalled by the AIM when it did not allow lawyers to enter the mosque on May 7.
