NEW DELHI: Reiterating that the government cares for the poor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday listed the capping of prices for cancer, TB medicines and providing free dialysis as some of the steps taken for the people.
“This government cares for the poor. For diseases like cancer, diabetes, TB, over 800 medicines are available at capped prices,” Modi said on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas. He also said that the poor can undergo dialysis for free.
Stating that Jan Aushadhi centres through affordable medicines have given relief on a large scale, Modi said the initiative is taking care of the well-being of beneficiaries, while also cutting down on their medical expenses.
