HYDERABAD: Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka has claimed that there could be a massive conspiracy behind the recurring food poisoning incidents in government schools and hostels. “We will expose those responsible for this conspiracy,” she said. “If officials are involved, they will lose their jobs. We suspect the involvement of a political party.”The remarks came ahead of the rash of incidents, one of them fatal, of food poisoning affecting students of government schools. The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has called for a statewide bandh of government schools on November 30 to highlight the issue. The SFI has demanded the appointment of a full-time education minister.Meanwhile, Jangaon collector Rizwan Basha conducted a surprise inspection of a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) school in Palakurthy and ate lunch with students.Among the recent incidents, the Maganoor Zilla Parishad High School in Narayanpet district saw food poisoning on to separate days, elavnig 60 students sick. In October, 63 students from Wankidi Tribal Welfare School in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district fell ill after dinner, with one student succumbing to complications a month later. Earlier this month, 12 students from a school in Mancherial district were hospitalised due to food poisoning.
