Lisa Marie Presley was a singer-songwriter widely known as the late Elvis Presley’s only child.
The star was also the daughter of Elvis’ former wife, Priscilla Presley.
Lisa was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 12, 2023, following going into “possible cardiac arrest,” as reported by TMZ — and her mother confirmed her death just hours later.

Lisa Marie Presley was a successful musician and the only daughter of the late rock n’ roll king Elvis Presley who is dead at 54. The Memphis native was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 12, 2023, following “possible cardiac arrest,” TMZ reported, where she died just hours later according to her mother Priscilla Presley, 77.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla confirmed to AP. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

In a separate emailed statement to HollywoodLife, Priscilla’s rep said, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Her death came just two days after the mother-daughter duo attended the Golden Globe Awards. Ahead of her death, it was reported that she went into “full arrest” on Thursday and that someone “administered epinephrine” in order to help her “regain a pulse.” It was also reported that Lisa was “able to regain a pulse” prior to being transported. 1. Her Parents Are Elvis and Priscilla Presley

Lisa became Elvis’ pride and joy when she was born to him and his wife, Priscilla, on Feb. 1, 1968. As the only child of “The King of Rock and Roll“, Lisa Marie was in the spotlight from the day she was born and grew up with public eyes on her nonstop. Now, the mother-of-four has enjoyed keeping a private life as much as possible, except in the rare instances she shared pieces of her family life on social media and beyond, like she did on Feb. 2, 2021, when she posted a snapshot of herself with her family.
When Lisa was nine years old, her father tragically passed away. More recently, her father’s life story was retold in the biopic, Elvis, starring Austin Butler, 31. On Jan. 10, 2023, Austin won his first Golden Globe Award for his performance of the late musician, and even made Lisa and her mother cry during his acceptance speech. Austin and Lisa became very close during the film and she even took to Instagram on June 18, 2022, to share a snapshot from an interview she did with Austin.

2. She Was Married Four Times

As of 2023, Lisa has been married four times, and two of her previous husbands include late singer Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. Lisa Marie’s first husband was musician Danny Keough, who she married in 1988 and divorced in 1994. Later, she went on to marry “King of Pop” Michael in 1994, and it brought on a large amount of media coverage because of the shock it caused to the public.
The couple faced a large amount of criticism with some even suggesting the marriage was a way to help Michael look better when he was in the midst of child molestation accusations. Both Lisa Marie and Michael insisted their love was real, however, but they ended things in 1996. Lisa Marie’s marriage to Nicolas was in 2002 and also shocked many before they eventually divorced in 2004. Her fourth marriage was to her guitarist Michael Lockwood in 2006. After ten years of marriage, Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 2016.
3. She Has Four Kids, Including One That Tragically Died

During Lisa’s marriage to Danny, they had two children together, Danielle Riley Keough, in 1989, and their late son Benjamin Storm Keough, who sadly died on July 12, 2020. Lisa was “devastated” to learn the news that Benjamin had died at just 27-years-old. Her second-eldest child was found dead in Calabasas, California and died “from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” TMZ reported on July 12, 2020.
“She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” her rep said in an emailed statement to HollywoodLife at the time. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life,” the statement also read. TMZ‘s report that Benjamin Keough died of a ‘self-inflicted gunshot’ was confirmed on July 12, 2020, by the Los Angeles County Coroner, who revealed that the 27-year-old’s manner of death was by suicide. The full report revealed that Benjamin’s death was caused by an ‘intraoral gunshot wound.’
Finally, the “Dirty Laundry” hitmaker welcomed fraternal twin girls, Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love, 14,in 2008 with her then-husband, Michael. The proud momma bear often shared snapshots of her girls via Instagram. On Oct. 11, 2018, Lisa shared an adorable mirror selfie with her daughters and captioned it, “Glamming it up with my loves for a special event!!! @rileykeough.”

5. She Had A Music Career Like Her Father

In addition to being a mom, she led an eventful life that’s involved many things, including a singing career just like her look-alike dad. She started her own music career and released three albums. Her debut album, To Whom It May Concern was released in 2003 with the lead single “Lights Out”. Once her music was released, many fans compared her deep singing voice to her dad’s famous tone. Her second album, Now What, was released in 2005, and her third, Storm & Grace, in 2012. She also went on tours to promote her music.
