Mahatma Gandhi Rajkiya VidyalayaThe state govt decided to open Mahatma Gandhi Rajkiya Vidyalaya (English Medium) from standard 1st to 12th on the eve of the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Now over 553 such schools are functioning across the state.Looking at the popularity of these schools, the Chief Minister has announced the opening of 1200 of these English medium schools in all the villages of over 5000 population. Indira Rasoi scheme In order to ensure that ‘Nobody should Sleep Hungary’, Indira Rasoi Yojana was inaugurated on 20th August 2020 with the provision of annual budget of Rs 100 crores. Under the scheme, beneficiaries are being provided quality and nutritional food to the poor and needy at the rate of Rs 8 through 358 kitchens set up in all the 213 city wards. The state government is providing the subsidy of Rs 12 per ‘Thali’. Over 4.3 crore persons have benefited from the scheme till September this year. Ek Rupey Kilo Gehun The state government has started an innovative scheme ‘Ek Rupey kilo Gehun’ to provide 1 kg of wheat at Re one to Antyodaya, BPL and state BPL beneficiaries. Under National Food Security scheme, 35 kg of wheat is being provided to the ration card holders and Antyodaya beneficiaries of state BPL category.Under the scheme, over 1 crore 74 lakh beneficiaries are being provided wheat at the rate of Re one kg instead of Rs 2 per kg. Mukhyyamantri Yuva Sambal Yojana This scheme has been started to provide assistance to the graduate unemployed youth. Under the scheme, there is a provision of providing unemployment allowance of Rs 3000 per month to the eligible graduate unemployed youth and Rs 3500 to the woman, disabled and transgender category for up to two years. Over 2.52 lakh youth have benefitted from this up to August 2021. A payment of Rs 1115 crore 82 lakhs have been made as unemployment allowance during the period. Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojana The scheme has been started to provide financial support for the marriage of those girls who are financially weak. Assistance of Rs 31,000 is being provided for the marriage of 18 years or above girls of BPL families of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minorities.Similarly, assistance of Rs 21,000 is being provided to the girls of all the BPL, Antyodaya families, Astha cardholder families, widows, disabled persons, sports woman etc. There is a provision of providing an assistance of Rs 10,000 to the girls of all categories who have passed 10th standard and Rs 20,000 to the girls who have passed graduation. Over five thousand girls have benefitted up to August this year under the scheme. Mukhyamantri Vishesh Yogyajan Samman Pension Yojana Under the scheme, pension is provided to the disabled persons suffering from blindness, short sightedness, leprosy, physically handicap, mentally retarded, transgender etc whose annual income is upto Rs 60,000. There is a provision of providing Rs 750 to a woman of less than 55 years of age and a man of less than 58 years of age.Similarly, pension of Rs 1000 is provided to women of more than 55 years of age and men of over 58 years of age. Pension of Rs 1250 is provided to pensioners aged over 75 years and Rs 15000 is provided to the leprosy free disabled of any age.An assistance of Rs 270 crore has been provided up to August this year under the scheme. It is the priority of the state government to ensure the overall development of the most underprivileged sections of society by delivering the benefits of schemes to them and work tirelessly for the overall development of the state and the welfare of the people. The present government is making tangible efforts to formulate appropriate and innovative strategies to promote and facilitate large scale livelihood for the youth among other sections of society.
