WARANGAL: IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Tuesday said the Congress government, which had previously conducted the Saraswati Pushkaralu, has an opportunity to serve the devotees again.As part of preparations for the upcoming Saraswati Pushkaralu festival to be held from May 15 to 26 at Kaleshwaram in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, ministers Konda Surekha and D. Sridhar Babu launched a web portal and a mobile app at the Secretariat on Tuesday.The digital platforms aim to provide comprehensive information to devotees and pilgrims who will attend the sacred event.Endowments minister Konda Surekha said that the current government is actively involved in temple administration, unlike the previous regime, which had neglected religious affairs.She said, since taking charge as endowments minister, the department has conducted several temple events such as the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, Komuravelli Kalyanam and Bhadrachalam Kalyanam. She also mentioned the formation of a governing body for the Yadadri temple through a legislative amendment.Regarding the Saraswati Pushkaralu, officials estimate a daily footfall of 50,000 to 1 lakh devotees. A 17-ft stone idol of Goddess Saraswati is being installed at the site along with permanent sanitation facilities, shaded rest areas and expansion of bathing ghats.Surekha also highlighted that the free bus travel scheme for women, introduced by the Congress government has significantly increased temple visits by women.She directed officials to set up a dedicated toll-free helpline to assist pilgrims during the Pushkaralu. Through the web portal and mobile app, devotees can access all event-related information, she added.
