Waqf Bill gets JPC nod with 14 amendments



Another change was on the ‘Waqf by user’ provision. While the bill knocked it off entirely, the panel approved amendments that said the the ‘Waqf by user’ law will not apply retrospectively, so long as the property is registered. However, Congress MP and JPC member Imran Masood contested the proposal saying 90% of Waqf properties are not registered.
