He would also quit his membership of the Rajya Sabha. “I am quitting politics,” he stated. In a social media post on Friday evening, Sai Reddy announced he was stepping down from active politics. This is seen to be a big blow to the YSRC as Vijayasai Reddy has all along been a close aide of Jagan Reddy, the party chief. Vijayasai has been involved in the party activities ever since its formation. Vijayasai Reddy is likely to address the media after submitting resignation as MP on Saturday. In his long post on X, Reddy said, “I am quitting politics. I am resigning from the Rajya Sabha membership tomorrow, January 25. I will not join any political party.”“I (am not) resigning in the hope of another position, benefits, or money. This decision is completely a personal one. There was no pressure. No one influenced me. I am indebted to the YS family, who have trusted me and supported me for four decades and three generations.”“I am forever grateful to Jagan for giving me the opportunity to be a Rajya Sabha member twice, and to Bharatamma for taking me to such a high level. I wish Jagan garu all the best.”Vijayasai Reddy added, “As the leader of the parliamentary party, as the floor leader in the Rajya Sabha, as the national general secretary of the party, I have worked sincerely and tirelessly for the interests of the party and the state. I have acted as a bridge between the centre and the state.”“Special thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their encouragement to me for almost nine years, giving me immense strength and courage, and giving me recognition in the Telugu states.”Vijayasai Reddy also made it clear that though he has political differences with Telugu Desam, he enjoys good relations with Chandrababu Naidu’s family. “I have political differences with TD. I have no personal differences with Chandrababu’s family. I have a long-standing friendship with Pawan Kalyan.”Regarding his future plans, Vijayasai Reddy announced, “My future is agriculture. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of my state, friends, colleagues and party workers, each and every one of them by name, for supporting me throughout my long political journey.”Meanwhile, the news about the resignation of another RS MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy from the MP post and party went viral. But he, currently on a foreign tour, rejected the news as “baseless,” affirmed he would continue as MP and in the YSRC and stated that he will clear the air after reaching back to India. In another development, word spread about the “resignation” of senior leader Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao alias Nani from the YSRC.
