Union Cabinet Secretary Reviews AP’s EoDB Status

Vijayawada: Union cabinet secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan held a video conference with chief secretaries of various states on Tuesday on ease of doing business (EoDB).Speaking on the occasion, the cabinet secretary sought support for the deregulation cell to reduce the compliance burden on ease of doing business. He pointed out that a special task force committee constituted in this regard will be visiting various states in March to take up the matter.AP chief secretary K. Vijayanand said the Andhra Pradesh government has been actively reducing the burden of compliances for companies wishing to start businesses in Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that as part of its EoDB policy, AP has reduced 632 compliances required under 60 regulations.Vijayanand said AP government has constituted an empowered committee to monitor the ease of doing business. It will issue appropriate orders accordingly.The AP CS disclosed that a team from the Government of India is visiting the state in the first week of March to review the status of ease of doing business in the state. “It will take the best practices from our state to other states,” he underlined.Those who participated in the video conference with the union cabinet secretary include special chief secretaries of AP, including Anantharam, B. Rajasekhar and Vani Prasad; principal secretaries Mukesh Kumar Meena, Shashi Bhushan Kumar and S. Suresh Kumar; secretaries Dr. N. Yuvraj, M.M. Nayak and Saurav Gaur.
