Kakinada: A high-level delegation from Pegasus Capital Advisors, led by global leaders in climate, sustainability and agriculture, visited natural farming projects in A. Gokavaram village in Unguturu mandal and Vadlapatla and Kodurupadu villages in Bhimadole mandal in Eluru district on Thursday.The team discussed subjects including advancing environmental and economic sustainability projects and how to strengthen Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF), a flagship initiative of the state government.The delegation comprised former White House National Climate Advisor and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy, founder chairman and CEO of Pegasus Capital Crag Cogut and founder and CEO of Producers’ Trust Keith Agoada. Executive vice chairman of Rythu Sadhikara Samithi T. Vijayakumar accompanied the team.The delegation visited Surabhi Goshala and observed a live demonstration of APCNF”s nine principles. They witnessed method demonstrations of seed pelletization, Ghana Jeevamrutham and Agni Astram, followed by the ATM (Any Time Money) model and water experiment assessing paddy productivity across different farming systems, supervised by T. Mallesh.The delegation interacted with APCNF cadres at Kodurupadu village and explored a comparative study on coconut farming analysing APCNF’s A-Grade natural farming model. They visited an eight acre coconut field of U. Rama Chandra Rao with intercrops of arecanut, banana and vegetables compared with the chemical-based farming of N. Rambabu. Later, they visited a non-pest management shop which provides multi-crop seed kits for pre-monsoon dry sowing and other essential inputs and explored paddy A-grade model fields and interacted with the members of Self Help Group of Vadlapatla village and local farmers.The farmers demonstrated drone-assisted spraying of botanical extracts in natural farming fields. Rythu Sadhikara Samithi officials Aruna, B. Prabhakar and Vishy, APCNF district project manager Tata Rao, additional district project manager Venkatesh and Mandal agriculture officer Praveen Kumar and others were present.
