Tomato farmers set produce on fire as prices plummet

In an extreme form of protest, tomato farmers in Medak district set their produce on fire after tomato prices fell sharply in the state.In Nawabpet village of Shivampet mandal in the district, farmers resorted to the desperate move as the plummeted prices failed to meet even their production cost. A video clip of farmers setting their produce is going viral on social media.Aggravated farmers seek government intervention into the matter for a quick solution.
