New Delhi: TMC leader Derek O’Brien has not been suspended from the Rajya Sabha, though the motion moved by leader of House Piyush Goyal is still under consideration.
Earlier, there was a buzz that the TMC leader has been suspended for the rest of the session after he entered into a heated argument while trying to seek a discussion on the Manipur issue.
The leader of the House and Union Minister Piyush Goyal moved a motion for suspending Derek “for continuously disturbing the proceedings of the House” disobeying the Chair and continuously creating din in the House.
This triggered a strong protest by the Opposition bloc-INDIA. Amid din against suspension, the chairman adjourned the House till it meets at 12 pm for further part of session.
