Telangana Govt. Orders Quick Resolution of Dharani Applications

Hyderabad: The state government has directed district collectors to resolve all pending Dharani applications within 10 days, with a particular emphasis on the districts of Rangareddy, Sangareddy, and Vikarabad, where application backlogs are substantial. This directive was issued during a video conference held by Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari with the district collectors on Monday.During the conference, Minister Srinivas Reddy stressed the urgency of clearing the pending Dharani applications, which are crucial for land record management and transparency. The directive is part of a broader effort to streamline administrative processes and deliver on the government’s promises to the people.In addition to Dharani applications, the minister also instructed district collectors to expedite the clearance of pending Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications, a matter of concern for many families awaiting regularisation of their properties. The collectors were urged to adopt aswift and transparent approach, adhering strictly to established rules and regulations.As part of the efforts to enhance efficiency, a special grade deputy collector will be appointed in each district to oversee the LRS process. Help desks and field inspection teams will also be established to assist in the timely processing of applications.The minister also announced that district collectors will organise workshops on August 23 and 24 to discuss the draft of the new Revenue Act 2024. These workshops will bring together intellectuals and experts from various fields to gather insights and suggestions for the proposed legislation.The video conference concluded with the minister reminding the collectors of the unresolved LRS applications from the previous government, which had accumulated over 25 lakh applications since October 2020. He highlighted the need to address these long-standing issues promptly, ensuring that the government delivers on its promises to the public.
