Tata Power-Led Odisha Discoms Among India’s Best with A+ Ratings

Bhubaneswar: Tata Power-led Odisha distribution companies—TPCODL, TPNODL, and TPWODL—have secured top national rankings among 63 power utilities in India, earning prestigious A+ ratings. This recognition, awarded by the Union ministry of power, underscores their leadership in financial sustainability, performance excellence, and external environment management.The announcement was made during the regional review meeting of the power sector in New Delhi, where the Union minister of Power and housing & urban affairs, Manohar Lal, unveiled three key reports: the 13th Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution Utilities (FY 2023-24), the 4th Edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) Report, and the 1st Edition of the Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report. TPCODL, TPNODL, and TPWODL maintained their A+ ratings in the 13th Integrated Ratings, highlighting the success of their public-private partnership model with the Government of Odisha. This model has driven significant improvements in operational efficiency and financial performance. Further cementing Tata Power’s reputation for excellence, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) and Tata Power Company Limited (TPCL) Mumbai also received A+ grades in the CSRD report. Additionally, TPWODL was ranked first in the Distribution Utilities category, while TPDDL emerged as a top performer among Urban Discoms in the inaugural DUR Report.
