Hyderabad: Techwave, a leading global IT and engineering solutions firm, opened its global development centre at the Financial District on Saturday, with IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu inaugurating the cutting-edge facility. Speaking on this occasion, the minister noted that Telangana was home to over 220 global capacity centres (GCCs) and the government was working to grow this number to 400. “Our skilled talent pool remains the cornerstone of this growth. While Hyderabad continues to lead, our focus is on ensuring that tier-2 and tier-3 cities benefit from this transformation,” Sridhar Babu said. “By investing in innovation and skilling, we are building an inclusive, sustainable ecosystem for balanced growth. Techwave’s new facility will play a crucial role in driving Telangana and India’s leadership in the global digital economy,” he said. The Techwave facility, spanning over 1,00,000 square feet, will increase its headcount by 1,200. The new facility is expected to catalyse Techwave’s digital transformation initiatives and global expansion strategies. The event was attended by special chief secretary of IT and industries Jayesh Ranjan, IT advisor Sai Krishna, co-founder and chairman of Techwave Damodar Rao Gummadapu, CEO and co-founder of Techwave Raj Gummadapu and vice president – global delivery and enterprise digital services of Techwave Chandra Rao and others.
