SLBC tunnel in 2 years to boost regional infra: Minister

Nalgonda: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced on Sunday that work on the SLBC tunnel will be completed within two years, with drilling resumed at Angadipeta in the district. Due to the Teachers’ MLC elections’ model code of conduct, he held a Prajavani session at his camp office without officials present.Reddy highlighted that the AMRP-SLBC project would permanently resolve the district’s drinking water and irrigation issues. He noted that an 850-metre tunnel has already been drilled and accused the previous BRS government of neglecting the SLBC tunnel and Brahmanavellamla projects. In contrast, the current Congress government has released funds for these projects. The minister also expressed confidence that the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR) would transform Hyderabad’s landscape. Tenders for work on the north side of the RRR have been called, and additional radial roads between the Outer Ring Road and RRR are expected to ease traffic congestion. He recalled that multinational companies set up operations following earlier infrastructural developments, including the Outer Ring Road, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, the Financial District, and the 13-km PV Narsimha Rao flyover.
