In a significant development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, on Monday has expelled its deputy leader, Rajesh Shah. This decision comes following the arrest of Rajesh Shah’s son, Mihir Shah, who is the main accused in a recent BMW hit-and-run case.A one-line notice by Shiv Sena secretary Sanjay More said Rajesh Shah has been relieved from the post of the party’s deputy leader.Shah, however, continues to be a member of the Shiv Sena.Mihir Shah, the 24-year-old son of ruling Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, had been absconding since the accident on Sunday. He was arrested by the police three days later. The Mumbai police had formed 11 teams and involved the Crime Branch to apprehend Mihir, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was also issued against him.Mihir was allegedly inebriated and behind the wheel when the hit-and-run accident took place, killing 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa and injuring her husband, Pradeep Nakhwa.
