Vijayawada: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat visited the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (SDMSD) temple atop Indrakeeladri and offered special prayers to the presiding deity, Goddess Kanaka Durga, at the temple’s sanctum sanctorum in Vijayawada on Saturday.Endowment minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Principal Secretary (Endowments) S. Satyanarayana, and SDMSD EO K. S. Rama Rao warmly welcomed Mohan Bhagwat. After his prayers, the temple priests performed the Veda Ashirvachanam and presented the goddess’s Silk Vastram (sacred cloth) and Anna Prasadam. Bhagwat is in Vijayawada to participate in RSS organisational activities, visiting various RSS Shakhas and holding internal discussions with RSS workers to strengthen the organisation.
