Hyderabad: The Telangana Retired Revenue Officers and Employees Welfare Association, Central Union, has written to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighting the alleged collusion between revenue and survey officers using Dharani and causing loss to the government and hardship to landowners.The association prosecution of the accused and protection of public properties, along with recovery of damages. The association sought the launch of prosecution under Section 256 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 for not protecting public properties, and taking over of all such land by the government.The association said that the misdeeds commenced after the launch of Dharani in November 2020, particularly in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts where the value of land grew multifold.The letter pegged the value of land at up to Rs.60,000 crore, and requested action by appointing a retired High Court or Supreme Court judge to conduct enquiry into all status of government land in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.
