Ration Cards, Indiramma Houses Most Sought After Sops

Nalgonda: A large number of applications were received for four new welfare schemes in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, with ration cards and Indiramma houses being the most sought-after.In Nalgonda district alone, 1,17,644 applications were submitted, with 53,844 applications for ration cards, 47,485 for Indiramma houses, 844 for Rythu Bharosa, and 15,485 for Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa. In Suryapet district, a total of 77,037 applications were received. Of these, 23,798 were for ration cards, 28,225 for Indiramma houses, 2,828 for Rythu Bharosa, and 22,186 for Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa. Meanwhile, Bhongir district saw a total of 70,832 applications submitted for ration cards. Officials reported that there are currently 10.07 lakh white ration cards in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. They estimate that the number of ration cards could increase by up to 10 per cent following the issuance of new cards under the welfare schemes.
