Hyderabad: Hyderabad police on Tuesday have arrested BJP MLA Raja Singh for his alleged sacrilegious remarks against Prophet Mohammad. An FIR was registered against him for the hate-mongering remarks. A case under sections 295(a), and 153 (a) has been registered against the BJP leader. Raja Singh has been in the news for all wrong reasons. He had triggered controversies by making communal statements and was booked for such divisive talks, many times in the past.
Earlier on Tuesday, thousands of protesters from old City organised a protest rally against Raja Singh for objectionable remarks against Prophet. The mob headed by AIMIM local corporator staged the protest march in front of old commissioner’s office. The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the MLA.
Based on complaints against provocative speeches, cases have been registered against the Goshamahal MLA in different police stations.
In the wake of massive protests, police personnel have been deployed outside the offices of the Hyderabad police commissioner, the Director General of Police office at Lakdikapul, and the old police commissioner office at Purani Haveli and other important places in Hyderabad.
