Chennai: Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin led the State in remembering B R Ambedkar to garlanding his statues and paying floral tributes with many political leaders in the State putting out messages in their social media pages on the occasion of his death anniversary. ‘Let us transform this moment into a social movement, pledging to uphold and internalize Babasaheb’s vision and to relentlessly fight for social justice in every aspect of life,’ Ravi said at the function organized at Raj Bhavan Stalin in his message on X quoted Ambedkar, “Educate, Agitate, Organise,” and paid heartfelt respects to the visionary leader who emerged from within our midst to challenge the deep rooted injustices that denied rights and dignity to many. ‘He demonstrated the transformative power of education and harnessed his wisdom to pave the way for equality and justice,’ he said, adding ‘Dr. Ambedkar remains a protector and warrior whose ideas continue to inspire us and safeguard our rights. His legacy will forever guide us toward a fair and just society.’ Several State Ministers visited the statues of Ambedkar in Chennai and in other places to pay their respects, while other leaders like BJP’s Tamilisai Soundrarajan, DMK’s Premalatha Vijayakanth and AMMK’s T T V Dinakaran also paid floral tributes. Among the top leaders who put out messages on social media were AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP State President K Annamalai and Makkal Neethi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan.
