Kurnool: On the sixth day of the seven-day Sankranti Brahmotsavam, special rituals were performed at the Srisailam temple. The day began with sacred offerings for the Lord and Goddess, followed by Kalashodvasana, Trishulasnanam, and Mahadasheervachanam for Chandeeswara Swamy in the temple’s Yagashala.During the Purnahuti programme, traditional items such as coconuts, spices, and new clothes were offered in the Homagundam, as per scriptural guidelines. After the Purnahuti ritual, Vasanthotsavam was celebrated, culminating in a sacred bath and puja for Chandeeswara Swamy at the Pushkarini.Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, Chief Priests, Sthanacharyas, Archakaswamis, and staff were present during these rituals. In the evening, Sadasyam and Nagavalli programmes were conducted in the temple’s Kalyana Mandapam. Vedic scholars chanted Veda Swasti, while Nagavalli saw the Goddess offered Mettelu and Nallapusalu in a symbolic post-wedding ritual as per Agama traditions. The day concluded with the Dhwajaavarohanam.The Brahmotsavam will conclude on Friday with the Ashwavahana Seva, a temple festival, Pushpotsavam, and the final rituals of Ekantha Seva and Shayanotsavam, according to temple authorities.
