Ponguleti To Launch Bhu Bharati Pilot Today

Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will launch the pilot project of the Bhu Bharati Act in Kajipuram village of Maddur mandal in Narayanpet district on Thursday, aimed at educating the people on the new law. Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, the minister said the newly-introduced Bhu Bharati Act and its accompanying digital portal were developed with the objective of streamlining land records and resolving disputes efficiently. “The true success of the prestigious Bhu Bharati Act lies in its benefits reaching the common people,” he said. As part of the pilot project, awareness programmes will commence on Thursday. These sessions, aimed at educating the public on the features and benefits of the Act, will be conducted under the supervision of district collectors across Telangana. Srinivas Reddy will inaugurate the pilot project in Kajipuram and later participate in an awareness meeting in Pudur village, Vikarabad district. His itinerary for April 18 includes attending a revenue meeting in Venkatapur village, Mulugu district, in the morning, followed by another session in Adilabad district. The Bhu Bharati pilot project is being carried out in four mandals, which include Maddur (Narayanpet district), Nelakondapalli (Khammam district), Lingampet (Kamareddy district), and Venkatapur (Mulugu district). In these mandals, public applications related to land issues will be accepted, and receipts will be issued in a newly developed standard format, which will be distributed a day prior to revenue meetings. Authorities will collect data on the types of land issues, the number of complaints, and possible solutions. Feedback on the Bhu Bharati portal will also be gathered to fine-tune its functioning. Starting May 1, except for disputes under court consideration, all received applications will be addressed, digitally recorded, and forwarded to relevant officials daily. While revenue meetings are being held in the pilot mandals, simultaneous awareness sessions on the Bhu Bharati Act will take place in all mandal headquarters across the state, excluding Hyderabad. Collectors have been instructed to attend at least two such programmes each day in their respective jurisdictions. Special teams comprising Tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, revenue inspectors, and surveyors have been formed to carry out these initiatives. Once the awareness phase concludes, similar revenue meetings will be expanded to all mandals throughout the state.
