Hyderabad: The north zone task force on Friday arrested two persons during raids on chicken shops in Begumpet for selling noxious chicken to customers. The arrested were M Bhasker of SSS Chicken Shop in Arjunnagar, Rasoolpura, and Botta Raveendar, of Ravi Chicken Shop, Annanagar Balamrai.Task force DCP Y.V.S. Bhaskar and Raveendar were found storing chicken wastaThe arrested were M Bhasker of SSS Chicken Shop in Arjunnagar, Rasoolpura, and Botta Raveendar, of Ravi Chicken Shop, Annanagar Balamrai.ge and bones for up to three months to supply fast-food centres and food outlets near wine shops at a lower price.On a tip off, the task force sleuths and sanitary inspectors of the Secunderabad Cantonment raided the shops and found Bhaskar and Raveendar purchasing poor quality chicken at low prices and mixing artificial colours and selling them.The spoilt chicken stock was dumped at Mahatma Gandhi Community Hall in Trimulgherry, which now acts as a dump yard. According to M Devender, sanitation superintendent of Secunderabad Cantonment, the two outlets were selling rotten meat at low prices to maximise profits. The notices were sent to the shopowners and action will be taken against them, the official said.
