Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemned the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, describing it as a desperate attempt by the enemies of Kashmir and the nation to disrupt the region’s remarkable progress.Speaking during the 121st episode of his radio program Mann Ki Baat, Modi expressed deep pain over the attack, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, mostly tourists, in the Kashmir valley on April 22. He assured the families of the victims that they would receive justice and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.”There is a deep agony in my heart. The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam has left every citizen heartbroken. Every Indian feels deep sympathy for the families of the victims,” said the Prime Minister, emphasizing the widespread emotional response to the attack across the nation. “The rage that we, Indians, are feeling is being felt in the entire world,” he added, noting the outpouring of condolences from global leaders.Prime Minister Modi went on to highlight the significant progress Kashmir has witnessed in recent years, including booming tourism, growing educational opportunities, and a surge in youth employment. He pointed out that these developments have been a source of hope and pride for the people of the region, but they have also drawn the ire of terrorist forces who seek to undo this progress.”Terrorists and their patrons want Kashmir to be destroyed again, and that is why such a big conspiracy was hatched,” Modi remarked, stressing that the attack was an attempt to undermine the positive changes taking place in the region. He further expressed his confidence that the perpetrators and conspirators behind the attack would face the harshest punishment, assuring the victims’ families that justice would be served.Modi also underscored the unity and solidarity of India, particularly in the wake of such attacks. “In this war against terrorism, the unity of the country and the solidarity of 140 crore Indians is our biggest strength. This very unity is the basis of our decisive fight against terrorism. We must strengthen our resolve to face this challenge,” he said. The Prime Minister added that the global response to the Pahalgam attack demonstrates the world’s support for India in its fight against terrorism. “Condolences are being poured from across the world.
