Actress and musician Shruti Haasan has always carved her own path in music, film, and personal growth, and this World Health Day, her reflections on self-care resonate more than ever. Known for challenging norms, Shruti has a fresh perspective on wellness that encourages everyone to embrace their own unique methods of self-care.In her own words, Shruti shared, “Self-care is very important, and you should do it in whatever way makes you happy. People often tell me, ‘You should really meditate,’ but I don’t know how to sit and blank my mind. I’ve found different ways to do it — like this thing called ‘breath of fire,’ where I channel into my third eye — but I do it with heavy metal because that’s what centres me. Playing the piano is my meditation. Watching Love Is Blind is my meditation. It doesn’t matter what it is — whatever feels like meditation to you, in terms of loving yourself and giving yourself the room to breathe and just be — I think that’s where real self-care lies.” Her approach highlights that wellness doesn’t need to follow a traditional format, and that it’s about finding what truly nourishes the mind and body. Whether it’s through music, meditation, or even indulging in a reality show, Shruti emphasizes the importance of allowing oneself to embrace practices that promote mental well-being. Shruti, who continues to balance her diverse career in film and music, will soon be seen alongside Rajnikanth in Coolie, which is set to release on August 14. She is also gearing up for her international project The Eye, expected to make waves globally later this year.
