Officials Biased Against Opposition Leaders: MLA

Vijayawada: YSRC’s Alur MLA B. Virupakshi accused some IAS and IPS officers of bias, stating that opposition MLAs were being disrespected. He questioned why officials were following the instructions of defeated Telugu Desam leaders instead of upholding constitutional values. “Shouldn’t MLAs be respected? Do officials not understand protocol?” he asked.Virupakshi condemned the murder of field assistant Eeranna in Alur constituency, allegedly over a job dispute. He blamed the ruling coalition for such crimes while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu remained indifferent. He also slammed the government for failing to ensure women’s safety, as crimes against them had become rampant. He criticised the coalition for not implementing election promises even after eight months in power. While the government claimed to have raised pensions by Rs 1,000, over three lakh beneficiaries had been removed, he stated. The MLA also took a dig at Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for going silent after vouching for Naidu’s promises. Recalling Lokesh’s statement that people should hold leaders accountable, Virupakshi asked, “Now that promises are broken, what does he have to say? Whose collar should be grabbed?”
