Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha has called for a movement to drive industrial progress under the banner of “One Family – One Entrepreneur.” The initiative aims to establish at least one woman entrepreneur in every family, transforming members of self-help groups into business leaders.Lakshmisha inaugurated a workshop on “One Family – One Entrepreneur” at the Vijayawada Agricultural Training Centre on Friday. Representatives of the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) shared insights on turning small ideas into successful ventures and highlighted their role in supporting women entrepreneurs. Eight successful entrepreneurs from various industries, including Shakti Vele, Ch Jitendraya, Keertana, Madhuri, Srikanth, Naveen, D. Vijaya Durga and Parvati, shared their experiences and expressed willingness to mentor aspiring women entrepreneurs. Lakshmisha stated that the state government is committed to sustainable development across all sectors, with a vision to eradicate poverty under the Suvarna Andhra @ 2047 initiative. “This movement aims to ensure that ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’ becomes a reality at the district level,” he said, adding that the workshop aimed to connect successful women industrialists with rural and urban aspirants. He cited examples of women entrepreneurs achieving turnovers in crores with an initial investment of just ₹2 lakh, presenting them as models of success. He noted that the service sector is projected to contribute around 68% to the Gross District Product (GDP) of NTR district in 2024–25, and efforts are underway to unlock industrial potential in the sector. The collector said that ₹855 crore has been allocated for livelihood loans to women in self-help groups this year, providing them with the necessary resources to grow as entrepreneurs in partnership with industrial organisations. He added that nearly 4.5 lakh women in self-help groups across the district will be sensitised about the initiative, with the goal of making every woman an entrepreneur. Dr Lakshmisha further noted that the district’s per capita income stands at ₹2.52 lakh in 2024–25, with an ambitious target of ₹55 lakh by 2047. He underscored the need to adopt the “One Family – One Entrepreneur” model to achieve this vision.
