Hyderabad: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (Nift), Hyderabad, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand event on Wednesday on its campus at Hitec City.In a press meet held on the occasion, Nift Hyderabad director Prof. Dr Malini Divakala highlighted VisionNxt, India’s first AI and EI-powered fashion forecasting platform, developed by the ministry of textiles, government of India. This platform aims to analyze fashion trends using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) and help the country’s fashion and retail industries stay ahead.A panel discussion titled ‘Parikalpna — Envisaging Trends in Fashion’ was held, moderated by Prof. Jasti Pooja. The panel featured NIFT Hyderabad alumni, including Shruti Rawal, Sulakshana Chemudupati and Divya Karamchedu, who discussed the future of fashion trends and sustainable fashion. They highlighted how eco-friendly fashion choices can shape a better world.The event also included a visual showcase of the NIFT’s achievements over the years, giving attendees a nostalgic look at its journey. A memory wall displayed Nift’s growth from its inception to its strong presence in Hitec City.
