Udupi: Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Adhokshaja Math also a trustee of Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has clarified that he has never made any statement suggesting the need to change the Constitution.Speaking to reporters in Udupi, the Swamiji explained that a meeting of seers had taken place in Bengaluru under the leadership of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, during which a written resolution was passed. “There was no mention of any statement regarding the Constitution in the copy given to the Governor. False accusations are being made,” he said and expressed dissatisfaction over how the issue was being handled.The Swamiji expressed unhappiness over the statement made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the issue. “Let the related video clips and the written letter be reviewed. The CM should have spoken after this,” he said.Speaking about his respect towards the constitution, the seer stated that he has participated in every election by casting his vote and has never engaged in any anti-Constitutional activities. He further mentioned that he has always lived in harmony with all sections of society and has continuously worked for the welfare of the underprivileged.”We have been involved in helping the weaker sections of society, from visiting Dalit homes to building houses for the underprivileged. Through the Pejawar Mutt and various organizations, we have raised funds to support these initiatives. Many have been inspired by us to build homes for the poor,” he said.He questioned why he was being targeted and added, “I can fight legally, but apart from that, I have plenty of other work to do,” he added.
