Vijayawada: Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s help to see through several projects in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu met the PM at his residence in New Delhi in the evening and the discussions lasted 45 minutes.These included financial matters, various developmental projects and challenges therein. Naidu briefed the PM on the resumption of the Polavaram and Amaravati project works and outlined the actions taken to expedite their progress.The chief minister thanked the PM for the financial assistance from the Centre to lay the groundwork for the state’s two crucial projects. Naidu drew Modi’s attention to the diversion of funds by the previous government from 94 central government schemes, resulting in major losses to the state. Some 74 of these schemes have been restarted, he told the PM.Discussing the establishment of the ArcelorMittal Steel Plant, the CM urged the Centre to ensure timely supply of raw minerals. He also pleaded for swift approval from various departments for this plant.Blaming the previous administration on multiple counts, Naidu told the PM that the revenue deficit grant expected from the Centre over five years had already been consumed in three years. He urged Modi to provide financial assistance to AP through special assistance provisions. The Chief Minister presented to the PM the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 document. Naidu explained the targets set by the state and the plans to achieve these. He sought comprehensive support from the central government to realize the SAV 2047.Discussions there also covered upcoming project inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies at the hands of the PM next month, an official release here said.Naidu also met with Union ministers Amit Shah and Nirmala Sitharaman to explain the state’s financial conditions and actions being taken to stabilize them. Issues related to the release of central funds across various departments were taken up.He held discussions with central ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman and Ashwini Vaishnaw.Earlier, Naidu attended the NDA leaders’ meeting to enhance coordination among alliance partners in the Parliament. BJP President JP Nadda, home minister Amit Shah and Chandrababu Naidu were among those present at Nadda’s residence.The leaders also examined the theme of good governance during the celebrations marking the 100th birth anniversary of Atal Behari Vajpayee. Additionally, they discussed strategies for cooperation on the bill related to the One Nation-One Election, now before the JPC.Following the meeting, TD MP Devarayalu said coordination among the alliance partners, alongside effective implementation of central government schemes in Lok Sabha constituencies, was extensively discussed.Naidu met steel minister HD Kumaraswamy to discuss strengthening of the Visakhapatnam steel industry. AP’s Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and central ministers Kinjirappu Ramamohan Naidu, Pemasani Chandrasekhar, Srinivasavarma and members of Parliament also participated in these meetings.
