Warangal: The Teachers’ MLC elections in the Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda constituency were held peacefully on Thursday in the erstwhile Warangal district. Voter participation varied across regions, with Mahabubabad recording the highest turnout at 94.47% and Hanamkonda the lowest at 91.66%.In Warangal district, 2,214 of 2,353 registered voters in 13 mandals cast their ballots, achieving a 94.13% turnout. In Hanamkonda, 4,780 out of 5,215 electors voted. Meanwhile, in four Hanamkonda mandals covering the Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Adilabad Teachers’ MLC constituency, only 103 of 166 voters participated—a turnout of 62.05%. In the Graduates’ MLC constituency of the same area, 1,780 of 4,585 voters cast their ballots, reflecting a 38.82% turnout.Additional constituencies saw mixed results: Jayashankar Bhupalpally mandal held elections for two Teachers’ seats and one Graduates’ seat. Overall, the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ MLC election recorded a 93% turnout, while the Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ election was at 92%, and the Graduates’ MLC election at 76%.Elsewhere, in Jangaon district, 945 out of 1,002 voters (94.31%) participated, and in Mulugu district, 583 of 628 voters (92.83%) cast their votes. Mahabubabad district reported the highest participation, with 1,571 of 1,663 voters (94.47%).Following the completion of polling, ballot boxes from six districts were transported under tight security using special vehicles to the Nalgonda district headquarters for counting.
