Anantapur: Tense situation prevailed on Tuesday at Tadipathri after MLA J. C. Asmith Reddy staged a protest demanding apology from a rural inspector for misbehaving with him pertaining to illegal transportation of sand from the Pennar river.The MLA’s close aides resisted illegal sand transporters resulting in heated argument between transporters and the MLA’s close aides. The MLA spoke to rural inspector Lakshmikantha Reddy directing him to register cases against the transporters while the inspector ignored the MLA’s directions.Reacting to this, the MLA rushed to the rural police station of Tadipathri and staged a protest. He demanded an apology from inspector Lakshmikantha Reddy.Even though Tadipathri DSP and others persuaded the MLA to withdraw his protest, the legislator continued his protest even in rain for a few hours.As the situation was turning violent, the higher authorities became involved and tried to convince the MLA and assured action against any illicit activities . The CI Lakhmikantha Reddy further spoke to MLA over phone seeking apology if he did any mistake and spelt wrong words. CI informed that he was ready to face any kind of action if he made a mistake. The MLA Asmith Reddy withdrew his protest on Tuesday night.
