(Photo: PTI/ Representational Image)�Visakhapatnam:�Temperature came down in many parts of the ASR district on Monday, forcing the elderly and children indoors. Thick fog was enveloping the villages and ghat roads, making driving through the region difficult.
The fog disappears after 8am and returns by around 5pm, said tourists who returned here from the Aralu Valley.
On Monday, G Madugula registered the lowest temperature of 5.4 degrees Celsius, GK Veedhi 5.5 degrees, Peda Bayulu 5.8, Dumbriguda 6 degrees, Paderu 6.1, Araku Valley 6.8, Chintalli 7.3, Munchingput 7.8, Hukumpeta 8.3, Ananthagiri 9 and Koyyuru 12.2 degrees.
“This is the third time the temperature fell to single digit, with the region experiencing the coldest season,’’ said A Appala Swami, associate director of RARS, Chintapalle.
With parts of the ASR, Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts experiencing dense fog in the morning hours, police as well as RTA personnel have advised motorists to use fog lights and drive slowly, particularly on the ghat roads to prevent the possible road-crashes.
