Massive fire destroys 10 homes in Uttarkashi village; no casualties reported

Administrative sources revealed that the District Magistrate has instructed the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, along with personnel from the Tons Forest Division and Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, to assist in the relief and rescue efforts. Additionally, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Purola has been tasked with coordinating these operations.Nidhi Semwal, Deputy Director of Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, stated, “Forest workers in the area are actively working to control the fire, and additional teams from the forest department are being dispatched to the site. Local villagers are also playing a leading role in this campaign to contain the fire in Sawani village.”
