Retaliatory firing and combing operations along with Army and central forces were conducted,” a police statement said.It said police headquarters also instructed all senior formations and all district SPs to remain vigilant, alert all forces in their respective districts and conduct joint operations by coordinating with central forces.Meanwhile, the Manipur police have constituted a five-member “high-level committee” to examine the use of drones by militants.A notification issued on Monday by the Police department said, “In an unprecedented attack in Koutruk on September 1, alleged Kuki militants had deployed numerous RPGs using hi-tech drones in which one lady civilian was killed and several others including three police personnel were injured.””In order to critically examine and study into the drones deployed by these militants including collection of all relevant evidence, specification of the drones used and how to effectively counter such drones a five-member high-level member has been constituted,” it said, adding “the committee may co-opt technical members deemed fit.”The committee would be headed by Additional DGP (Intelligence) Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, and would also include Indian Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF and BSF officers, the statement added.
