Hyderabad: The Attapur police arrested Shaik Zakeer, 42, for transporting ganja on Thursday. Inspector K. Nageshwar Rao said Zakeer, an autorickshaw driver from Pahadi Shareef, had gone to Amravati in a train from Kacheguda and purchased one kg dry ganja, worth `20,000 and returned to the city on April 7. The next day, he packed the contraband in 100 sachets and went to Hasannagar to sell it when he was apprehended.Copper Recycling Unit Catches Fire in Kukatpally, No Casualties ReportedHyderabad:A major fire erupted at a copper recycling unit in Kukatpally at 1.30 am on Thursday. No casualties were reported. Three fire engines from different stations, and ten water tankers doused the blaze in an operation lasting three-and-a-half hours.Kukatpally inspector P. Rajesh said the blaze occurred as a result of a short circuit. Workers working beside the unit noticed the fire and informed the fire station.The owner of the unit, Arvind Kumar, lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
