Pune: Automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, JSW MG Motor, BMW, Yamaha and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter, who unveiled their electric vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 are betting big on green mobility in the country. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara SUV marks a big leap in the company’s journey toward decarbonization and sustainable mobility.Built on the all-new Heartect-e platform, it delivers superior performance while embodying futuristic design and a premium experience, the company claimed.Maruti Suzuki Head of Marketing and Sales Partho Banerjee said “ The e-Vitara sales will start this calendar year, and the booking date and price will be announced very soon,” said Partho Banerjee, Head of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki.The e-Vitara would have a range of over 500 kms on a single charge, he noted.Safety features include 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS, complemented by Next-Gen Suzuki Connect offering over 60 features. The ‘e for me’ ecosystem includes smart home chargers, fast DC chargers at dealerships, and an app for seamless charging solutions.Made-in-India the ne e-Vitara is for the local and over 100 global markets. vision.BMW, Germany luxury car maker, also introduced the 4th-gen X3 in two variants priced at Rs 75.80 lakh and the xDrive20d M Sport costs Rs 77.80 lakh.BMW claims that the X3 is the longest, tallest and widest car in its segment. The petrol variant is powered by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder engine which produces 187 BHP and 310 Nm. The car has a claimed 0 -100 km/h acceleration time of 7.8 seconds. The diesel comes with a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 194 BHP and 400 Nm. It has a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds.Hyundai, the Korean automaker, launched the much-awaited Creta Electric SUV in four variants with staring price of Rs 17.99 lakh.The Creta Electric looks similar to the ICE version. It has a blanked-off front grille with vertically stacked headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs and taillights, and LED light bars are both ends.The Creta Electric rides on aero-optimized 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels shod with Low Rolling Resistance tyres and comes with Active Air Flaps that are said to improve aerodynamic performance.Kia, the fastest growing car maker, showcased three completely new offerings including, the Syros, the compact SUV, the facelifted EV6, Carnival Hi-Limousine. the Syros which was unveiled in December 2024.The Syros, unveiled in December 2024, is larger than the Sonet, but smaller than the Seltos. It is built on the K1 platform that also underpins the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Exter.JSW MG Motor India has gone all guns blazing at this event showcasing 7 cars, two of which will be launched this year and will be retailed through the carmaker’s more premium ‘MG Select’ outlets.These cars are MG Majestor, its flagship SUV, MG’s most powerful electric roadster, the MG Cyberster EV, the new-gen avatar of the MG Astor, MG’s upcoming flagship electric MPV, the MG M9, the MG 7 Trophy, a sleek-looking sedan that is sold internationally. It also exhibited the iM 5 electric sedan.Yamaha India brought in the Yamaha Lander 250, an off-road capable bike, the Tenere 700, and iconic motorcycles like the RX-100 and RD-350, as well as first-generation models of the YZF-R15 and FZ series and the R3, and R7 models from Yamaha’s R-Series.Yamaha also unveiled the 2025 FZ-S Fi DLX, its first hybrid motorcycle in India, the hybrid scooters such as the RayZR, Fascino, and Filano. It also displayed the Aerox 155 Version S and N-MAX scooters.“Under the theme ‘Aspirations Unveiled,’ we proudly present our global product lineup, igniting possibilities for the future of motorcycling in India,” said Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India.Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched two electric scooters namely, the ACTIVA e: and QC1 electric. Priced at Rs 1.17 lakh and Rs 90,000, respectively, these scooters feature advanced technology like swappable batteries for the ACTIVA e: and a fixed battery for the QC1. Bookings are open, with deliveries starting in February 2025 for select cities.“With ACTIVA e: and QC1, we are introducing two technologically advanced electric two-wheelers catering to different customer needs.
