Kona Venkat urges Telugu stars to emulate Venkatesh's promotion efforts

Renowned writer-turned-producer Kona Venkat has called on Telugu stars to follow the example of veteran actor Venkatesh, who has gone above and beyond in promoting his latest blockbuster, Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Despite the film grossing over ₹230 crores within ten days of release, Venkatesh continues to actively participate in promotional events to attract more audiences.“He could easily relax with his family and enjoy the success, but instead, he is relentlessly promoting the film to ensure it reaches even those who missed out during the Sankranthi holidays,” Kona said. The Daggubati star’s efforts to draw audiences back to theatres, particularly families, have been instrumental in extending the film’s successful run.Kona highlighted how Venkatesh’s early promotional efforts, including engaging Instagram reels and participation in special TV debates and college events, have set a new benchmark for star involvement in marketing films. “He even joked about singing the title song and fully immersed himself in promotional activities, showing unmatched energy and commitment,” Kona remarked. As the son of legendary producer Rama Naidu and brother of Suresh Babu, Venkatesh has always prioritized the welfare of producers, Kona added. “He’s a producer’s actor. I’ve heard stories of him advising producers to cut unnecessary costs, like reducing the number of cars on set, which reflects his thoughtfulness and dedication.”Kona also touched on the growing challenge of drawing audiences to theatres in the age of OTT platforms and global cinema. “Filmmaking has become easier, but attracting today’s discerning audiences to theatres is the hardest part. Venkatesh has not only revived interest in theatres but has also brought families back to cinema halls, helping restore the magic of the communal movie-watching experience,” he explained.Kona concluded by urging other Telugu stars to take inspiration from Venkatesh’s example and actively promote their films. “In today’s competitive environment, aggressive promotions are essential to boost collections and ensure the survival of the film industry.”
