Hyderabad: Veteran Congress leader K. Keshava Rao’s 23-year-old grandson Dhruv was book in a case of drunken driving case. A blood alcohol content test returned a read of 150, five times over the norm, Banjara Hills police confirmed. The norm is 30 micrograms of alcohol for 100 millilitres of blood.The incident occurred around 2 pm at Road No. 10 of Banjara Hills junction. Dhruv who was driving a car to drop his friend hit a vehicle that was waiting at the signal. This sparked a quarrel, with the occupants of the other vehicle seeking compensation for the damage.A motorist called the police. The traffic police who were present there cleared the traffic and took both the vehicle aside. That was when they subjected Dhruv to a breathalyser test and found Dhruv to be drunk.Dhruv on Saturday night had reportedly consumed liquor with his friends after watching an IPL match. He then got into the car and was at the wheel when the accident occurred.Police booked a case of drunken driving, rash and negligent driving and seized the car. “We did not receive a complaint from the owner of the other vehicle,” a police officer said.State Fire Department a Model, Says DGHyderabad: The fire department has prepared a scheme for empanelment and regulation for companies to installation quality firefighting equipment and to perform periodic audits. Our technical experts across the state are working on national building code of India, electrical vehicles, procurement process etc., for the awareness and improvement of the fire & emergency services, Nagi Reddy added.Fraudster Held For Stealing 20 Tola GoldHyderabad: In an attention diversion case, Kachiguda police arrested Sambasiva alias Guruji Sivaswamy, a fake tantrik, who diverted the attention of a woman and fled with her gold ornaments. “We formed four special teams and went through over 450 CCTV cameras after April 2 when the victim lodged a complaint,” T. Jyothsna, SHO, Kachiguda police.“Our special teams traced and arrested from his house in LB Nagar and recovered 20.54 tola gold from his possession,” Jyothsna said. The accused, a resident of LB Nagar, had offered to perform a puja to allegedly help the victim to “overcome” her problems.Sambasiva asked her to place her gold in a container and pretended to perform puja. Before leaving, he told the victim to wait for a few minutes and wear the gold. After he left, the victim realised she had been robbed.
