Following talented actress Sai Pallavi’s decision to opt out of the much-anticipated film Yellamma, directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi, the makers turned to Keerthy Suresh for the pivotal role. However, she has yet to officially sign on. “Keerthy hasn’t given her nod yet and looks quite doubtful. The team is now scouting for another leading actress who is more popular and talented since it would be a costly movie,” reveals a source. The film stars Nithiin in the lead role and is being produced by Dil Raju.Despite top actresses showing hesitation, the production team is determined to retain the film’s grand vision. “They are sticking to their original plan of a ₹40 crore-plus budget because the story demands it,” the source adds. “The film portrays the emotional journey of a low-caste singing troupe, highlighting their struggles and dreams. The Goddess element (Yellamma) plays a crucial role in this semi-divine thriller, which is rich in human drama set against the backdrop of small-town life.”Director Venu Yeldandi, who earned acclaim for his heartfelt storytelling in Balagam, has once again crafted a narrative inspired by real events. He promises another emotionally charged story that celebrates the culture and resilience of Telangana’s people.
