WARANGAL: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao did not know what the federal spirit was, he only knew about cloudbursts and Jefferson’s (a whiskey brand in the US), alleged BJP state chief and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Addressing a massive gathering during his Praja Sangram Yatra here in Palakurthy of Jangaon district on Tuesday, Sanjay said, “I pray to Soma Lingeshwara Swamy to change the fate of Palakurthy people as this region has great history where noted personalities like Palakurthy Somanna, Valmiki Maharshi, Bammera Pothana, Chakali Ilamma, Thanu Naik, Shaik Bandagi and Doddi Komuraiah hailed from,” he said.
Whatever the development that took place in Palakurthy and across Telangana was because of funds sanctioned by the Central government, he said and added that Telangana was the only government which was not paying salaries properly to its employees.
“Without doing anything for Telangana state, the Chief Minister is trying to cover up his failures and hoodwinking the people by accusing the Centre. He did not fulfil many of his promises which include unemployment dole and distribution of three acres of land to Dalits.
“KCR is interested in coming to power by bribing voters. He paid Rs 10,000 per vote in Dubbak bypoll, Rs 20,000 per vote in Huzurabad bypoll and now he is ready to pay Rs 30,000 per vote in Munugode. Take that money and teach him a fitting lesson like that of Dubbak and Huzurabad,” Sanjay said.
The TS BJP president came down heavily on the police for shutting down shops at Palakurthy in the wake of his padayatra. “Let the police commissioner Tarun Joshi give up his job and join the TRS for a post,” he said. The police lathi-charged innocents and dragged even women holding their hairs, he said and asked if that was respect the TRS government gave to the women in the state.
Meanwhile, Sanjay reached the milestone of 1,000 kilometres with his padayatra entering into Dharmathanda in Palakurthy mandal. In the first two phases of Praja Sangram Yatra, Sanjay covered 821 kilometres.
