Hyderabad: Fifth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate T. Madhavi on Friday convicted a juvenile for raping a minor and sentenced him to community service at a special home for one year. The court ordered a compensation of ₹50,000 for the 17-year-old victim. The juvenile has been ordered to perform community service every third Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, starting March 21, at the special home in Gajularamaram. The prosecution was handled by APP Anitha Deshmukh. The investigation, led by then inspector A. Anjaneyulu, revealed that the minor had established contact with the victim over social media and later engaged in physical relationship on multiple occasions. The victim’s mother filed the initial complaint, leading to the juvenile’s apprehension on November 8, 2023. The minor was asked to perform community service at the special home, Gajularamaram, every fourth Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, starting March 23. According to the police report, the victim was initially reported missing after failing to return home from school. Police investigation, based on a complaint, revealed that the juvenile had lured her in the name of love, taken her to Karnataka and forcibly committed a sexual assault. After witnessing this, Bahid Khan, an adult, had blackmailed her and sexually assaulted her at her residence. “The victim stated that there was forcible assault by the juvenile,” stated public prosecutor Anitha, stressing the victim’s testimony was crucial evidence. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report did not detect semen, however the medical report stated “Sexual assault cannot be ruled out.”
