Jennifer Garner, 51, gushed over her friend and fellow actress Reese Witherspoon, 47, at a Los Angeles event on Saturday. The 13 Going on 30 star and Legally Blonde star both made an appearance at Hello Sunshine’s Inaugural Shine Away when the former revealed the latter had helped her at a “very public, very hard moment” in her life.
“I think back to being pregnant. This one [Reese] was sitting next to me,” Jennifer, who was also on the panel with Mindy Kaling, said via PEOPLE. “I think back to going through a very public, very hard moment in my life. She was right there and the way I needed to get through it was dance cardio.”

“And I danced cardio-d so hard, we broke her foot, but she kept going!” she continued. “It was like, okay, we worked out at seven on vacation, we’re going to work out again at two. She was like, ‘I’m going to be there. I’m going to be there.’”
Jennifer’s latest comments about Reese come after she divorced ex-husband Ben Affleck in 2018. They former power couple married in 2005 and share three children, including Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 11. Since their split, they have both romantically moved on. Ben married Jennifer Lopez in 2022 and Jennifer has been dating John Miller on and off since 2018.

In addition to praising Reese for the help she gave her during the “hard moment,” Jennifer praised the blonde talent for the support she gives her as a parent. “She’ll also look at you and say, ‘Okay, you need to be finding a preschool. This kid is two and a half and they need to start next month. You actually have to get on this,’” she said.
Jennifer also mentioned meetings Reese holds for other actresses to speak openly about the industry without being silenced. “Those meetings happened at Reese’s house. And it was the first time I’d ever sat down with that many actresses in the same room that we weren’t passing each other in an award show in big dresses, where we just sat,” she explained. “We’ve been siloed off the one place.”
