Infy Narayana Murthy buys Rs 50-crore flat in Bengaluru

Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy has purchased a second luxury apartment in Bengaluru’s Kingfisher Towers for Rs 50 crore. The four-bedroom luxury apartment spread in 8,400 square feet is located on the 16th floor and has five dedicated car parking spaces. Murthy’s move has set a new price benchmark in the area. According to the deal, the price has been set at Rs 59,500 per sq foot, making it one of the highest in the city’s upscale commercial center. According to sources, Murthy bought the new flat from a Mumbai-based businessman who had owned the property for nearly a decade and Sadhwani Real Estate Holdings facilitated the deal. It may be recalled that Murthy’s wife Sudha Murthy bought a flat for Rs 29 crore in Kingfisher Towers on the 23rd floor four years ago. Other high-profile personalities living in the Towers include Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Karnataka minister KJ George’s son, Rana George. The luxury apartment bought by Murthy is located inside the central business district (CBD), UB City. Kingfisher Towers comprises 81 luxury apartments in three blocks on a 4.5-acre site. The 34-storey building has residences covering 8,321 square foot on an average. The towers are built on land where Vijay Mallya’s ancestral home stood once.
