Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), described the flight trial as a “historic achievement” that has positioned India among a select group of nations with such critical and advanced military technologies. He extended his congratulations to DRDO, the Armed Forces, and the industry for their collective efforts. Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, also lauded the team for their active contribution to the mission’s success. “This hypersonic missile is designed to carry various payloads for ranges greater than 1,500 km for the Armed Forces,” stated the MoD. The test demonstrates India’s growing prowess in developing cutting-edge defence technology, solidifying its position as a global power in military innovation.
