Tirupati: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati and the University of Agder (UiA), Norway, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Cotutelle PhD programme, aiming to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions. The agreement was formalised in a signing ceremony at IIT Tirupati on Thursday. Following the signing, discussions focused on future collaborations, including potential joint research projects and student mobility programmes. The UiA delegation was led by prof. C. Linga Reddy, along with prof. Folke Haugland and prof. Paul Ragnar Svennevig.IIT Tirupati director Dr. K N Satyanarayana presented an overview of IIT Tirupati’s research and academic initiatives, followed by a presentation on UiA’s academic programmes by prof. Reddy. The MoU establishes a framework for joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and the Cotutelle PhD program, which will allow doctoral candidates to conduct research under joint supervision and receive degrees from both institutions.
