HYDERABAD: In the first of its kind gesture, HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Wednesday held a meeting with those who were accused of encroaching government land in Ameenpur; people with real estate interests in that area, those who suffered losses due to demolitions and colony members who had raised complaints against encroachments.Prior to the meeting, held at HYDRAA office in Buddha Bhavan, HYDRAA did an initial survey along with revenue officials on Monday. All the four parties who were present in the meeting were informed that the comprehensive survey will be completed in 15 days. The survey will be done in the presence of officials from HMDA, Ameenpur municipality, revenue department and HYDRAA.The comprehensive survey will help HYDRAA in identifying the extent of government land that has been encroached, location of parks and open spaces marked in the layout, details of encroachers, victims of encroachments and colonies that have suffered the most after lung spaces were occupied.Ranganath has also decided to hold a meeting with bank officials to check whether loans are being granted to such properties and initiate appropriate measures to ensure that people are not cheated, said an official HYDRAA release.In survey no. 152 and 153 in Ameenpur municipality, park encroachments were reported and all of them are in the HMDA approved layout at Venkataramana colony.Complainants from colonies were grateful that many critical issues were dealt with during the meeting as numerous complaints about their parks being encroached have gone unheeded all these years.
